Coventry University's Sports Centre are recruiting experienced Sports and Recreation Assistants to join their team on an As & When temporary basis.
As Sports and Recreation Assistant you will:
*Receive bookings for centre's facilities and services.
*Receive and bank cash and maintains proper records of financial transactions in accordance with University financial regulations.
*Book out equipment as and when required
*Arrange and carry out duplication and photocopying of materials as required.
*Deal with general enquiries from students and staff in relation to the sports facilities and services available.
*Assist with opening mail and distribute to others as required
*Receive telephone messages from staff, students and members of the public
*Ensure all aspects of the University Health and Safety policy are implemented
*Ensure the security of the centres equipment
*Promote the use of the centre to both students and staff
*Provide First Aid for clients when necessary.
*Set up and breakdown of Sports Activity areas.
*Undertake regular cleaning of all Sports Activity areas, Changing facilities and circulation space as required.
*Ensure Sports Centre bookings start and finish at the allotted time.
*Ensure all Activity area lights are turned on/off as required.
*Maintenance and cleaning of all Sports equipment.
*Supervision of other areas as required.
*Assistance with clerical work as and when required.
*Reporting of any building faults or defects to the University Estates department.
*And such other duties as are within the scope and spirit of the job purpose, the title of the post and its grading.
Experience required:
*You will have a minimum of one years' experience working in a customer focused environment ideally within a Sporting facility
*Educated to GCSE standard, including Maths and English
*A passion and strong Interest in sport
*Practical knowledge of sports performance
*Organisational skills
*Good written and oral communication skills
*Experience and awareness of the organisation of sport.
*Ability to deal with people at all levels
*Proven ability to apply the principles of customer care in practice
*Ability to handle conflict
*Ability to work under pressure to deadlines, and to prioritise tasks, particularly during busy periods
*Ability to work on own initiative whilst contributing as a member of a team
*Ability to work on a shift rota to include evenings and weekends
