An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced SEO Analyst to join Coventry University on a three month contract to co-ordinate the SEO and analytical data for the University Group.
As SEO Analyst you will manage a range of reporting on the success of digital campaign activity across all University digital channels including social media, provide reports and analysis on the university website, offering insights and providing expertise across data analysis and content cycles to both internal and external stakeholders.
Using web analytics to implement on-site SEO improvement campaigns, keeping up to date with the latest search engine algorithm changes and ensuring that content on the university site achieves the best possible results by increasing visibility across search engines.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
*Ensure all websites and internet properties are technically optimised to attract and engage target audience.
*Set-up and work to performance indicators for SEO/SEM that are clear. Communicate these to inform marketing planning and encourage working in data cycles.
*Promote offsite and on-site activities to support increase in traffic to website - linking to specific marketing campaigns.
*Define the purpose of each webpage and user journey and measure effectiveness.
*Track responses and analyse website analytics and PPC.
*Support campaign development and undertake media-purchase - using bid management tools.
*Undertake A/B testing across the University website and microsites.
*Manage the University's web analytics account, and other related SEO/SEM analytical tools including access for relevant staff where required.
*Develop and manage in house plans for SEO improvements including implementation of new tools and resources.
*Provide web analytics reports on the University site as a whole, in addition to individual sections and department areas on an ongoing basis.
*Report on SEO improvements - google rankings, site effectiveness and campaigns.
*Make recommendations on how to improve content and traffic to the website by working alongside stakeholders to ensure reports are understood and recommendations are acted upon.
*Conduct regular SEO reviews, identify issues for improvement and coordinate team members to implement changes.
*Work closely with key staff to create SEO/SEM plans and to devise innovative methods of delivering quality traffic to the site.
*Monitor the way users search for university information and provides continuous improvement plans to user journey as a result.
*Provide reporting on SEO activity and the success of off-page SEO campaigns.
*Provides advice and guidance to the Digital team including web developers in expediting new site builds and digital content projects, where necessary.
*Undertake SEO/SEM audit to support web effectiveness and provide regular reports and recommendations.
*Develop keyword portfolio for each content stream and support implementation through analysis and mapping, working alongside the Digital Marketing Coordinator.
*Provide campaign support through target link building and report on effectiveness.
*Monitor traffic, diagnose problems and manage improvements.
*AND such other duties as are within the scope and spirit of the purpose of the job, the title of the post and its grading.
*Degree or equivalently qualified.
*Proven experience of on-page Search Engine Optimisation.
*Practical experience of analysing web data, and designing and providing analytics reports.
*Experience of web analysis tools (Google Analytics, Web trends, Net sight).
*Practical experience of writing content for the web.
*Experience of managing digital campaigns and reporting on results.
*Experience of A/B testing.
*Experience of using bid management tools (e.g. click equation, ken shoo, searchlight).
*Experience of taking complex information and using it to communicate clear recommendations for improvement.
*Experience of working with multimedia and social media functions.
*Practical experience of working as part of a team in a demanding environment.
*Experience of liaising with a wide range of stakeholders
*Demonstrable back-end and copywriting SEO skills.
*Effective project management skills.
*Up-to-date knowledge of SEO an SEM trends.
*Creativity, and the ability to generate innovative solutions to problems.
*Knowledge of key search engine algorithms, and the factors most important to search.
*Demonstrates experience in using SEO and other related tools.
*Undertaking campaign analysis of competitor sites.
