Registry Assistant

We are recruiting for a Registry assistant, working as part of a small team on a temporary basis initially until the end of February at which time this will be reviewed.
You will have excellent administration and customer service skills, to deliver an excellent face to face service to international students.
Excellent attention to detail is required to be able to provide accurate information and advice to students regarding their Visas.

Compliance with these duties is fundamental to the continuation of this significant area of the University's business.

You will also provide support to senior assistants in the following areas.

Enrolment/ Document Management and Tier 4 Licence Status.
Visa compliance
Attendance monitoring
Student Record Management

Main Duties and Responsibilities

On a rota basis, to staff the Tier 4 compliance front office in the Student Centre, dealing face to face with students, providing information and advice on a wide range of visa compliance issues, including attendance requirements, visa applications, requests for absence etc. In this role the Registry Assistant must demonstrate a high standard of customer service, providing accurate information.

Staff the Tier 4 compliance desks at events eg enrolment. This includes accurately scanning and checking all academic/ passport/ visa documentation; speaking individually to all new students about their Tier 4 responsibilities; recording details of students who are missing the documentation required to enrol; escalating any visa or other issues to a Senior Officer.

To carry out quality checks of documentation post enrolment.
To support on visa extension monitoring.
To support the University's annual Tier 4 Licence renewal process.

The post holder will be expected to make an active contribution to the ongoing development of University Tier 4 policies and processes, and to suggest improvements where inefficiency/ gaps are identified.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Good working knowledge of IT systems,eg Microsoft Windows; Word, Excel
Experience of working in a busy customer focused environment.
Awareness of data protection legislation.
Experience of working within a legislative or policy framework.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
