PROJECT OFFICER
England, West Midlands, Coventry - £13.00 per hour

Post Title:Temporary Project Officer (6months)
£12.84 per hour, plus holiday pay.

Purpose of the Job:

The Project officer will maintain monitoring systems to manage the effective day to day delivery of the project, providing effective communication with stakeholders (internal and external) and consultants.

They will maintain an overview of work streams, including budget tracking, administration of procurement and billing activities and maintain effective project contract control and reporting requirements. Experience of working on school or 6th form college projects is desirable.


Main Duties and Responsibilities:

1.To produce and maintain a detailed definition of the scope of the project, in consultation with the Director of Educational Strategies.

2.Prepare and maintain realistic project plans, tracking all project activities against plans and timelines, providing regular and accurate progress reports to senior management, project boards, and stakeholders as appropriate.

3.To analyse and determine business and user requirements critically evaluating the information gathered from multiple sources, reconciling conflicts, deconstruct high-level information into details, and determine solutions.

4.Undertake financial systems support to projects including day to day monitoring of income and expenditure, administration of procurement and billing activities and budget tracking needed to maintain effective project contract control and reporting requirements.

5.Act as a first point of contact for project clients, dealing with client requests directly when possible.

6.Plan and administer the organisation of project specific events, collaborative events and formal meetings relevant to the projects keeping accurate notes of those meetings.

7.Organise with others and undertake company visits to project stakeholders, providing the necessary follow up reports and actions.

8.Complete, submit and monitor progress of funding application forms.

9.Undertake any background research and projects in the execution of project goals.

3.PERSON SPECIFICATION


Experience
(Paid and Unpaid)
Experience of planning short term, time defined projects with multiple external stakeholders

Financial accounting experience, income and expenditure, administration of procurement and billing activities and budget tracking

Experience of undertaking background research

Experience of computerised administration systems/Microsoft Office, Word, Internet and Outlook, with advanced use of Excel and MS Project
Experience of working in Consultancy environments

Experience of report writing

Experience of working on school or 6th form college governance projects is desirable.
