Part-time Domestic Team Leader

Our clients seeks an experienced Domestic Team Leader (Part-time)

Salary Range: £19,261 per annum, pro rata salary
Mode: 20 hours per week (0830 - 1230, five days over seven)

PURPOSE
Ensure a high quality level of customer focused service is provided at all times
To contribute to the provision of an effective cleaning service by providing detailed
Supervision of cleaning activities in properties controlled by the Group.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Direct supervision of cleaning staff on a day-to day basis to ensure cleaning is
undertaken in accordance with the agreed standards.
2. Determine cleaning requirements and allocated resources for the designated area of
Responsibility
3. In conjunction with the Assistant Residence Officer, liaise with customers on specific or
additional requirements and incorporate these into the daily programme as required.
4. To plan, organise, and check seasonal/periodic cleaning and advise on completion of
standard of work.
5. Assess the effectiveness of cleaning services by completing a daily checklist and report the
findings to the Residence Officer.
6. Report requests for protective clothing to the appropriate Residence Officer.
7. Report repair and maintenance faults to the Assistant Residence Officer and follow up as
necessary to ensure the problem is rectified.
8. Complete staff returns and other administrative records for submission to the Assistant
Residence Officer at the time stated.
9. Provide the domestic staff induction, on the job and on-going training as required,
including the preparation of probationary reports.
10. To monitor the effectiveness of training given, reporting as necessary to the Residence
Officer.
11. Undertake regular training requirements and training reviews with cleaning staff.
12. Ensure all cleaning staff are correctly issued with and wear uniforms/suitable protective
13. Undertake cleaning duties in emergency situations.
14. Conduct and record quality cleaning checks, taking appropriate action where necessary.
15. To conduct property inspections, before and after occupancy and regular intervals
throughout the year.
16. Maintaining an effective and high profile relationship with residents throughout their stay,
responding to requests for information and assistance as necessary.
17. Participate in the calendar of annual events to include Open Days and
Induction.


Supervision Received
The post holder reports directly to Residence Officer and Assistant Residence Officer
Internal Property Manager


PERSON SPECIFICATION
Education/Qualifications
GCSE or equivalent-must have a good general level of education. BlCS
Proficiency Certificate or equivalent (i.e. NVQ Level or 2).
Advantageous
NVQ level3 in cleaning.
Experience
Experience of a wide variety of cleaning methods and equipment.
Experience of supervising staff.
Knowledge of Health and Safety issues (general} and control of Substances Hazardous to
Health (COSHH).
Experience of working with a diverse student population or the demonstration of an
understanding of student's needs.

Excellent communication skills.
Other Requirements
To work on a 5 over 7 shift pattern to meet business requirements
Opportunities for taking annual leave during business critical periods {mainly from mid
August to end of September) will be restricted.
The Company will provide a uniform/protective equipment that the post holder must wear
whilst in the work place. The post holder will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of
the uniform.
