Coventry University's Group Organisation Development plays a critical role in helping to develop the capability of their staff, both in the UK and internationally.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the team and lead on the design, delivery and commissioning of a variety of programmes and initiatives including embedding their capability framework, leadership and management development programmes, corporate induction and their recently launched coaching and mentoring academy.


Main Responsibilities:
* To project manage the development of systems, processes and facilities to support capability development and performance management.

* To conduct staff development needs analysis at individual, Service, Faculty, School or University level in relation to generic or specific capability requirements.

* To commission and manage the development of learning and development interventions and their delivery.

* To personally design, deliver and facilitate learning and development programmes for internal clients where appropriate.

* Provide advice and coaching, in relation to individual or staff development, for managers and staff.

* To support HR Business Partners to identify gaps in learning at individual, team and departmental level and work alongside the HRBP to provide solutions.

* Provide advice, either in person, via email or on the telephone to staff on general learning and development issues.

* Liaise with and coordinate the delivery of training activity of others in the University who have responsibility for specialised training and development provision.

* Conduct evaluation of the return on investment in relation to staff development activity.

* Develop policies relating to learning and development.

* AND such other duties as are within the scope and spirit of the job purpose, the title of the post and it's grading.


Person Specification

A self-motivated and results-driven individual, you will have great interpersonal and organisational skills and experience of working effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

You will also have:
* Qualified to honours degree or equivalent experience

* Membership, through qualification - Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD)

* Experience in at least three of the following:
*Design and Delivery of Learning and Development activity
*Management Development
*Career Management
*E-Learning
*Performance Management
*Training needs analysis
*Evaluation of Training
*Qualification based learning
*Vocational learning
*Evaluation of Training
*Qualification based learning
*Vocational learning

* Experience of having delivered within a HE context

* Consultancy skills - internal or external

* Experience of using a specific project management methodology, for example Prince

* Excellent personal presentation and facilitation skills

* Influencing and persuasion skills

* Planning and organisation of project based activity Management of suppliers, including commissioning, negotiation and evaluation

* Ability to operate with a high degree of discretion and observe strict confidentiality at all times

* Ability to work flexibly

* Must demonstrate cultural awareness including ability to travel within and outside of the UK to represent the Directorate / University as required
