Our Client seeks a Lean and Quality Engineer
Reporting to Lean and Quality Manager

Job Purpose:
To help the UK Sales Company (SC UK) and Divisions to achieve key KPI objectives (incl. Cost of Poor Quality, Customer Service) and achieve Profitable Growth targets by ensuring that Customer Quality Management (APQP) is met. To work with Customers and Divisions to prioritise improvement activities to enhance Customer experience, deploying problem solving and Lean tools to improve the effectiveness of the business


Job Responsibilities:
*Support the teams with the acquisition of Lean Skills as a trainer and advisor, using High Performance Team methodology where appropriate.
*Work with teams to ensure that effective Works Instructions and Standard Work are in place.
*Prioritise the Continuous Improvement activities on KPI's for SC UK, such as Cost of Poor Quality and Customer Service, and lead or facilitate the improvement teams where necessary.
*Influence internal departments to standardise routines and procedures to support implementation of efficient and effective methods.
*Drive Problem Solving within SC UK by training and facilitating problem solving teams using 8D, A3 (10 Step Problem Solving) and Six Sigma to eliminate errors in our processes.
*Work with key Customers supporting their Quality Improvement Initiatives (Lineside or Warranty) liaising with the relevant Divisions.
*Provide detailed reports to Sales Company Management and to Divisions on the Quality performance of key Customers.
*Provide stakeholders (Sales Company and Division) with quality performance data for the Customer Scorecard reviews and participate in improvement projects.
*Support the Claims Handling team in vetting Divisional 8D reports, giving feedback to divisions when improvements are necessary. Support the Warranty Manager in adjudicating Export Claims.
*Comply with, and support the maintenance of, the Quality and Health and Safety Management Systems.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
*A proven track record of problem solving using Lean and Six Sigma tools.
*A proven track record of successful Lean implementation - Lean office an advantage.
*Demonstrable understanding and application of Automotive Quality tools (APQP).
*Demonstrable success in leading/influencing teams in kaizens and problem solving.
*Demonstrable experience in the handling of problems at Customers and/or Suppliers.
*Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
*An organised self-starter who uses own initiative with a flexible approach to duties.
*Occasional travel and overnight stays may be required in UK or Europe.
