2. JOB DESCRIPTION
Purpose
Provide technical support to staff and clients of Technology Park.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Support the users of the LAN within the group and their associated systems
2. Maintain, check and action on a daily basis the HELPDESK technical fault reporting system. Where appropriate respond/action client requests and complete the relevant documentation when the fault is resolved.
3. Support the systems and services connected to the LANs by resolving faults and carrying out PC repairs.
4. Assist colleagues within IT Department with workload where possible and work closely with other divisions/staff who are engaged in system development and support.
5. Support LIW/remote staff including systems installation, employee engagement, trouble-shooting and where appropriate system development.
6. Provide appropriate IT support to the Conference Centre clients, tenants and users of the LAN and its associated systems and services.
7. Liaise with suppliers when necessary and technical partners in the resolution of technical issues relating to equipment and services provided
8. Provide appropriate documentation for systems and services such that operational duties may be performed by others.
9. Establish/maintain effective contact with external system and service suppliers.
10. Create/maintains appropriate records of work to standards set down by the Department,
including asset marking of new and existing equipment.
11. Liaise with other staff in providing support services relating to group
12. Keeps abreast of developments in areas relevant to the technical services provided.

HNC or equivalent in relevant discipline.
Degree in technology-related subject.
Experience
(Paid and Unpaid)
Practical experience in basic PC fault finding and repair
Practical experience with PC operating systems and their installation.
Operational experience of Windows server based networking
Worked in advanced LAN environment
Practical experience of new technologies

Willingness to work out of normal working hours on occasions
Ability to work under pressure and unsupervised
Full driving licence and/or access to private or public transport due to travel involved
