Internal Communications Project Officer
Coventry City Centre
Salary Range £25305 - £30183
Initially 2 months

To deliver a series of transformational projects to improve internal communications across a large business group and develop a sustainable plan with stakeholders to maintain a high standard of internal communications.
To provide cover and support for communications for staff, customers and internal stakeholders (including emergency communications).

Main Duties & Responsibilities

1.To develop and deliver a series of transformational projects to improve internal communications.
2.To find and use digital applications to improve internal communications and stakeholder engagement.
3.To provide cover as the managing editor for a variety of internal and external company publications both digital and print. This includes taking responsibility at times for layout, design, creation and content editing and distribution of internal publications and communications.
4.To work with the Digital Team and IT Services to improve use and efficiency of the staff portal across the company.
5.To develop a sustainable plan with stakeholders across the Group to maintain high standards of internal communications.
6.To work with the Stakeholder Engagement Team and other relevant teams to share best practice on internal communications and corporate messaging
AND such other duties as are within the scope and spirit of the job purpose, the title of its post and its grading.

Experience Required:

*Educated to degree level or significant work experience in a similar role
*Degree in English, Communications Studies or related media or relevant professional publication would be advantageous
*Excellent writing skills for a range of audiences to include experience of writing and implementing robust and effective internal communications plans, proven press release and broader writing skills, excellent copywriting skills for web and digital, proof reading and sub editing experience.
*Portfolio to demonstrate a strong knowledge of the Higher Education, commercial and business markets.
*Experience in corporate business or Higher Education press office environments.
*Experience of media relations in a press office or PR consultancy.
*Knowledge of internal communication systems.
*Experience of web and digital communication tools
*Project management experience.
*Demonstrates strong relationship building skills.
*Ability to develop internal groups/committees or Advisory Boards to support communications activities
*Ability to work with minimal supervision and often under pressure and to deadlines.
*Able to generate own ideas and deals with issues on own initiative.
*Excellent oral & written communications skills.
*Tact diplomacy and sensitivity.
*Ability to communicate with a range of audiences.
*Demonstrate a positive and flexible approach to work - will involve some evening/weekend working and travel in the UK & overseas.
*An appreciation of other cultures; the global reach of the company and its international agenda.
