England, Warwickshire - £34,000 - £35,000 per annum

Our client one of the most innovative and caring co-operative, seeks an HR Advisor.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR Advisor initially six month contract but often extended or with a chance of becoming permanent.

Car driver essential: with car allowance or Hire car available.

This role is a regional role so some travel required, usually able to prioritise with a day/office hours.

Job Summary
To report to the HR Manager, who will have responsibility for the effective delivery of our HR Services.

To provide a HR advice service, within a team of Advisors, with a clearly defined SLA to support the delivery of the people plan.

To provide a HR advice service over the telephone through our advice line as well as face to face.

To actively support the development of Line Managers to take personal responsibility for the effective and efficient management of their people.

To ensure the requirements of our service level agreement direct all we do to provide an effective service to the society.

However, occasionally situations may arise that require the post holder to perform other duties or tasks as may be reasonably requested by the Society.
Key Responsibilities
The post holder shall:
HR Support Service
*Ensure that all HR activities support the strategy of the Society and the HR Services Steering Wheel.
*Provide sound, reliable, consistent HR advice over the telephone and face to face.
*Ensure the professional delivery of core generalist HR advice.
*Support the business through the effective application of a wide variety of personnel policies and procedures, e.g. absence management.
*Ensure all casework is effectively managed in line with the Service Level Agreement timescales, e.g. grievances/disciplinary cases, advice and guidance etc.
*Ensure all advice and guidance is legal and complaint to relevant Employment Law.
*Work in effective partnership with the recognised Trade Union ensuring an understanding of the relevant detail of Union agreements.
*Provide support to other colleagues actively contributing to the development of a team-working ethos within HR.
*Contribute to the learning and development that will continue to develop the knowledge skills set of colleagues within HR Services.
*Ensure an awareness of developments across the Society to ensure information and guidance is relevant and up to date.
*Up skill all Managers in people practices, Policies and Procedures
*Develop a set of personal change skills to improve personal performance and support change initiatives across the business.
*Work effectively with the HR Services team to develop the reputation and integrity of the department so that HR is business focussed at all times.
*To work alongside Occupational Health to enable the effective management of sickness absence.
*To attend, as required, welfare meetings to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of colleagues is maintained e.g. following a serious incident at site.
*To attend disciplinary cases where it is likely that a dismissal will be the outcome, otherwise to provide telephone advice.
*To ensure the timely production of disciplinary and grievance outcomes.
*To support with appeals as requested
*Take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work.

Qualifications
Previous generalist HR experience
CIPD qualification or working towards
