Coventry City Centre
£10 an hour - 37.5 hours
6 Months

As Customer Service Advisor you will be the first point of contact for international students, staff and visitors to the Student Centre and provide administrative support to the International Student Support team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
*Signposting students to support services within Student Centre and wider university.
*Arranging appointments for students with International Student Support Team and International Office Enquiries Desk
*Triaging queries and advising where appropriate
*Assisting staff and visitors on arrival
*Ad Hoc administrative duties for International Student Support team
*Coordinating visa extension support for students both within the UK and overseas through emails and telephone
*Providing directions to the University buildings within the Campus, as well as facilities within the city, such as train and bus station, banks and other public services
*Maintaining excellent working relationships with internal stakeholders
*Dealing with queries about admissions process of international students
*Responsible for the upkeep and appearance of the student centre reception area
*Providing outstanding customer service to frontline enquiries from staff, students and visitors
*Keeping plasma screen information up to date and updating as and when necessary
*Booking meeting rooms for University staff within the Student Centre
*Welcoming new international students on their arrival at Student Centre, sign post to appropriate departments during welcome week - key to role.
*Be able to work under pressure to meet targets and deadlines
*Be empathetic, patient, professional and culturally aware when assisting students from a wide range of backgrounds
*Be able to think on feet and to work independently and within a part of a large team.
*To meet and greet new international students after office hours from 5pm onwards and sign post to the right directions with appropriate support.
*Checking bank statements of our prospective applicants from multiple regions in the world against stringent Home Office requirements.
*Conducting and assessing interviews to ascertain intention to study at the university.
*Work extended hours including weekends during peak times especially leading up to University intakes.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
*A - Level or equivalent work experience.
*Experience of working with International Students
*Understanding of Higher Education Recruitment practice
*Understand of UK immigration system
*Experience of working in a customer service environment
*Excellent oral and written communication skills.
*Excellent telephone manner
*Customer focused approach
