Our client seeks an experienced Category Manager, excellent opportunity for career advancement with a forward thinking company.

Our company is seeking an individual with experience within the fields of Retail, FMCG or Merchanting background within Category Management.

Essential
"Proven experience in a Category management role and/or commercial role with a clear understanding and application of the commercial principles or comprehensive knowledge of the specific Market
"Has the ability to think strategically and translate this into operational actions that deliver sales, market share growth and total margin improvement
"You will possess a high degree of influencing skills with kudos to interact within our teams in Operations, Supply Chain, Category and the Senior Management Team to achieve the desired results
"Have the ability to assimilate, analyse and derive insight from data from a variety of sources and make
recommendations
"Have the skills to prioritise and manage multiple and sometimes conflicting demands and stakeholders
"Has demonstrable skills in negotiating and "closing" deals to deliver deal improvement whilst optimising the supplier relationship
"Has the ability to use your foresight to identify potential issues and resolve them
"You will identify potential opportunities and develop them
"Grasps the 'bigger picture' and internal and external factors that impact on sales and profit
"Must have excellent communication and presentation skills at all levels, with the ability to influence and build
strong relationships, with both internal and key supplier stakeholders
"Must have a strong team work ethic, with the ability to work on own initiative and manage cross departmental
relationships in order to deliver
"Will be results driven and focused on delivering on timescales
"Will be flexible regarding working hours and travel, as travel across the UK is a necessity

oEnsure that you build effective relationships with your fellow Category Managers
oEnsure that you build and develop an effective and diverse category range
oEnsure that you understand and deliver performance of your individual category(s)
In terms of Sales Values, Sales Volumes, Margin %, Margin £, ASP's (Average Selling Price)
and measure against the Market.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you plan ahead and anticipate changes within the market and put
in place the appropriate interventions were necessary to with stand the potential changes and
the implications of them on your Category
oEffectively land Price Increases and take action with suppliers to ensure that increases meet the
the company requirements The Management of List Prices
oThe proposal, development, coordination and management of new category development

Commercial
oWork with Ops and Sales to maximise Sales Volumes and Screen and Through Margin to break point
oLiaise with the Marketing department regarding the Marketing plans and strategy for the Category
oConduct Health and Safety SMATS

Procurement
oManage the Supplier Segmentation portfolio
oIn conjunction with the Finance Department supporting the collection of unpaid rebates
oInteract with all brands when and where appropriate to build effective and meaningful
business brand working relationships which facilitate and deliver the category plans and strategy.
oPrepare and deliver when required briefing papers for Senior Managers.
