Description:
We are currently recruiting a Finance Assistant to contribute to the efficient and effective administration of an extremely busy Accounts Payable Team.

As a team member you will be expected to work with minimal supervision, use your initiative to resolve and respond to queries and prioritise your work to meet team, month end and year end deadlines.

Duties to include:
* Process all payment documentation on a daily basis
* Follow all pre-determined controls to eliminate any potential fraudulent activities
* Apply initiative with the ability to challenge any situation that may result in a payment risk
* Respond to all enquiries and provide a professional service to all suppliers
* Continually review potential automation and/or time saving efficiencies on tasks. Identifying and recommending new business process solutions to improve the efficiency of and/or increase the levels of service.
* To assist in the maintenance of procedure manuals ensuring they are accurate and up to date.
* Provide appropriate statistics that assist in the monitoring and reporting of finance service quality, efficiency and effectiveness.
* To liaise with internal and external audit as necessary.


PERSON SPECIFICATION

* Qualified to A level or demonstrable relevant experience.
* Working with multiple systems and databases containing high volumes of information.
* Knowledge of basic accounting concepts and principles.
* Worked within higher education sector.
* Knowledge of Agresso
* Accounts Payable Experience
* Excellent numeracy, literacy and systems skills. Including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Strong customer focus and willingness to provide the best customer service possible.
